# PRIVACY POLICY FOR UNSCRAPE
Last Updated: August 8, 2026
UnScrape ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the UnScrape mobile application and website. We operate as your Authorized Agent under California law (California Delete Act / SB 362, CCPA, and CPRA) to submit and enforce data-deletion requests on your behalf.
---
## 1. Information We Collect
To prepare and submit deletion requests to data brokers on your behalf, and to verify your identity as required by California law, we collect:
- Identity Data: Full name, current physical address, previous physical address (if applicable), phone number, and email address.
- Legal Consent Data: A digital signature and consent record confirming you have authorized UnScrape to act as your Authorized Agent under California Civil Code § 1798.99.80 et seq.
- Tracking Markers: To detect whether a data broker continues to share your information after a deletion request, we generate tracking markers derived entirely from your own real information — for example, an email alias at our domain, or a minor variation of your name or address. These markers always represent you. We do not create fictitious people, fake relatives, or synthetic identities of any kind.
## 2. How We Use Your Information
- To prepare and send statutory data-deletion demands to data brokers registered with the California Privacy Protection Agency, under the California Delete Act (SB 362) and CCPA/CPRA.
- To track and document each broker's response — including confirmed deletions, missed statutory deadlines, and any evidence that a broker continued to share or re-collected your data after confirming deletion.
- To generate a personal compliance summary showing the outcome of your requests, accessible to you at any time.
- Only if you separately opt in to class-action referral, and only where documented broker conduct meets a review threshold, we may compile the relevant evidence into a package for review by a partner law firm. This is not legal advice, and no referral occurs without your explicit, separate consent.
## 3. How We Verify Broker Compliance
Verification is done entirely through legal process — we track brokers' written responses and required disclosures under statute. We do not scrape, hack, or gain unauthorized access to any broker's website or systems.
Our broker-discovery process reviews only what data brokers are legally required to publicly disclose (such as their own privacy policy statements) to help identify entities that may not be properly registered with the state. This is manual document review, not scraping or unauthorized system access.
## 4. Data Protection & Storage
- We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal data to any third party.
- Your data is stored in encrypted databases on standard, secure cloud infrastructure.
- Tracking markers and monitoring data are retained only as long as needed to detect and document broker compliance on your behalf.
## 5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal information and associated tracking data are removed from our active systems within [confirm exact timeframe — e.g. 30 days]. (Note: this specific number should be confirmed with counsel before publishing — it should reflect your actual deletion process, not an assumed "statutory" timeframe, since no specific statute governs UnScrape's own data retention.)
